Peter Charles Lenseth

The Celebration of Life for Peter Charles Lenseth will be held on October 20, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at The Priest Theatre, 18575 NW 237th Street, High Springs, Florida, 32643. The family would like for you to experience Peter's Journey of Life as he would have at the theatre, with popcorn, drink, and snowcaps (or other candy of your choice) from the concession. The family has requested for everyone to dress comfortably in their favorite sport's team or movie themed jerseys and T-shirts as Pete always wore his favorites: the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Florida Gators, and the New York Yankees. He would have liked that. Fellowship and reminiscing with family and friends and staying for lunch afterwards with some of Peter's favorite dishes. Please RSVP by October 10th. He was born on July 15, 1948 to Charles and Alberta (Yeater) Lenseth in Muscatine, Iowa. In his teen years, the family moved to Ft Myers, Florida. He attended Cypress Lake High School where he played varsity football wearing #72. After graduating high school, he moved to St. Petersburg, Florida and attended St. Petersburg Vocational Technical School where he studied surveying and architecture. He graduated in 1969. He married Linda Lee Bennett on October 3, 1969 at Lealman United Methodist Church. Peter was employed with the Pinellas County Zoning Department for over 34 years and was a member of the US Florida National Guard for 17 years in the communications sector. After he retired, they moved to High Springs, Florida. Peter was a loyal Buccaneer and Yankee sports fan, an avid reader mostly of sci-fi, had many collections like Coca Cola, Star Wars and Star Trek, books, and sports memorabilia especially anything to do with statistics. He was a fanatic about movies with popcorn and Snowcaps. Most importantly, Peter enjoyed having conversations and discussions with his family, friends, and new acquaintances, and most people in general that he crossed paths with. Peter was a member of the Lealman United Methodist Church of St. Petersburg, Florida where he was an active member of the United Methodist Men, a Sunday School Superintendent, Usher, church custodian, supporter of the Youth Group, and helped with the Cub Scouts that met at the church. Most recently he enjoyed viewing the services through Facebook. He is survived by his mother, Alberta Lenseth of Manhattan, Kansas; wife, Linda Lenseth of High Springs, Florida; daughter, Kristina Quinlivan and son-in-law Robert, US Army veteran of St. Petersburg, Florida; grandsons, Ryan Quinlivan, seaman in the US Coast Guard, and granddaughter-in-law Danielle; Ethan Quinlivan of St. Petersburg, Florida; great-granddaughter, Lilly Grace Quinlivan of Tuckerton, New Jersey; sister, Melody Sexton and brother-in-law Col. Chuck E. A. Sexton, US Army retired, of Manhattan, Kansas; brother, Murray Lenseth of Pinellas Park, Florida and sister/brothers-in-law, Nancy and Kenneth Habig of High Springs, Florida and Robert Bennett of St. Petersburg, Florida; niece, Callie McMahan and husband Eric with great-niece, Edith; nephew, Cpt Chuck F. M. Sexton, US Army Inf. and wife Ariel, niece, Heather Dence and husband Cpt Jason, US Army retired with great-nephews, Nathanael, Philip, and Jadon; nephew, SFC Kyle Habig, US Army Reserves, and SSgt William Bennett, US Air Force with wife Holly and great-nephew Jaxon and great-nieces Scarlett and Evelynn. Peter's special companion and friend was his beloved pet Harvey, an exuberant Jack Russell Terrier. He was predeceased by his father Charles Lenseth, WWII Army veteran, fall 1986 and mother-in-law Leona Bennett, December 2012. A private Celebration of Life will be held by the family. He had a great love and devotion to God, family, and country.
