David Brockway Lynn Sr., DDS, surrounded by his family, passed away in his home on the Santa Fe River, Branford, Florida, on October 5, 2015. He is survived by his college sweetheart and wife of sixty two years, Linda Edmonson Lynn, his children D. Brock Lynn, DDS, MS, wife Natalie, R. Roland Lynn his wife Deborah, Kathleen Lynn Anderson her husband Kenneth, and Luke A. Lynn his wife Leslie. Grandchildren, Hunter B, Margaret E and Madaline L. Lynn, R. Alden Lynn and Taylor B. Norrell, Alexander "Al", David and John Haskett, Lauren K. Lynn, and Kyle Simmons, great-grandchildren, Kellan and Kallee Lynn Morrell, his brother-in-law, Robert E. Edmonson, M.D., who shepherd his health for fifty five years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. and Mrs. Roland Lynn, his brothers John R. Lynn, MD, and Joseph A. Lynn, M.D. He was born in Dallas, TX, on April 9, 1932. He attended Baylor University in Waco, TX, and is a graduate of Baylor College of Dentistry. He practiced dentistry in Dallas for fifty six years, and was a pioneer in the art of "Aluminous Porcelain and Metal Ceramics". He enjoyed sharing his knowledge as a clinician and lecturer. He served as President of the Dallas County Dental Society, Southwest Academy Restorative Dentistry and the American Academy of Restorative Dentistry. He was named Dallas County Dental Society Dentist of the Year, and was founder of the Margaret and Roland Lynn Lectureship at Baylor College of Dentistry. The Lynn family has the distinction of being the first family with three generations to graduate from Baylor College of Dentistry. In his early years he was a scratch golfer. He introduced his family to the world of hunting, and raised English Setters, Labrador Retrievers and thoroughbred horses. A true professional and patriot he was a direct descendant of John and Priscilla Alden who came to America on the Mayflower. He was a remarkable man with a loving personality and a superb sense of humor. His memory will be cherished by his family, patients and friends. We know that he is made whole and is in Heaven. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church, 9800 Preston Road, Dallas, TX, and a reception will follow in the church parlor.
