Marion Lamb

Lovingly remembered as “Aunt Mar”. • Born: 4/4/1944 in Cleveland, Ohio. • Died: 5/22/2024 at home in Canton, Georgia. Preceded by: • Father – George Schaser • Mother – Lillian G. Leindecker Schaser She is survived by: • Brother – Bill and Donna Schaser • Sister – Kathy and Gil Mac Adam • Sister- Becky and Kevin Fitzgerald. • Numerous nieces and nephews, grandnieces and nephews, cousins, and friends, all that she loved dearly. Marion fought a courageous battle with cancer over the past eight months, but her spirit emerged victorious. Marion's life was an inspiring demonstration of love and kindness, and her journey was a testament to her faith and dedication to serving others. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and spent her early years in the suburb of Wickliffe, where she graduated from high school. She then attended Fort Wayne Bible College. Marion’s professional career started at Bailey Meter Company in Wickliffe. In the early 1980s, her journey took her to Gainesville, Florida, where she owned and operated the Gator Court Motel, a three-generation family-owned business. Marion’s final place of employment was with Publix, where she eventually retired as she chose to live and care for our beloved mother until her passing in 2018. After that, she decided to move to Canton, Georgia to live with her sister. Marion's dedication was truly remarkable. She poured her heart into cheering for the Florida Gators and the Atlanta Braves, caring for animals, and sharing the Lord's message with unwavering passion. Despite not having children of her own, she selflessly devoted her time, energy, creativity, and resources to positively impact the lives of others, particularly the youth. From volunteering as a children's teacher in Sunday school in Ohio to her significant contributions to the Lake Forest Baptist Church in Gainesville, Marion's kindness and compassion touched countless lives. Her legacy of love and grace continues to inspire generations to lead lives filled with purpose and meaning. Marion's generosity was boundless, and her simple acts of kindness, like discreetly giving strangers gifts, left a lasting impact on those she encountered. Though she may be absent from our lives, her legacy of love, kindness, and compassion will live on in our hearts forever. The void is great, but the joy is greater. A memorial will be set at a later date. Her remains will be laid to rest at Forest Meadows Cemetery, along with our Mother and Father. Instead of flowers, donations can be made to Child Evangelism Fellowship.
