Romulus Dante Scoglio

Romulus Dante Scoglio, Sr., born February 4, 1928 in Washington D.C., passed away Saturday May 3, 2014 at NFRMC in Gainesville, Florida surrounded by his loving family. Romulus graduated from Central High School in Washington D.C. in 1947. He joined the Army's Occupational Forces during W.W.II and served in the Korean War. After he returned, he went to work for the Chesapeake & Potomac Telephone Company as a manager. After retiring in 1984, he and his wife moved to Gainesville, Florida. Romulus was an enthusiastic music lover who enjoyed singing and dancing. He loved playing games with his family, watching football and spending time with his close friends. He spent his spare time flea marketing and tinkering with his old trucks. He was well known for his sense of wit and humor and never met a stranger. Romulus is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Dorothy Mae, their four children, Romulus Dante, Jr. (Yudy), Thomas Steven (Janet), Paul Edward & Tina Marie Haynes (Michael), thirteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Romulus was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Christina Scoglio, his oldest son, Anthony Thomas and his grandson, Vincent Thomas. A Funeral service will be held for Mr. Scoglio on Wednesday, May 7th, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Forest Meadows Central Cemetery's Chapel in the Meadows, 4100 NW 39th Ave. There will be a visitation on Tuesday May 6, 2014 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Forest Meadows Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a donation to Hospice of Citrus County of the Nature Coast 150 North Main Street High Springs, FL 32643 Romulus Dante Scoglio, 86 of Gainesville passed away at the North Florida Regional Medical Center on May 3rd, 2014. Romulus was born in Washington, DC and served in The US Army and was a member of the Moose Lodge. Funeral service for Mr. Scoglio will be held on Wednesday, May 7th, 2014 at 2:00pm in the Forest Meadows Central Cemetery's Chapel in the Meadows, 4100 NW 39th Ave. There will be a visitation on Tuesday May 6, 2014 from 7:00pm to 9:00 at the Forest Meadows Funeral Home
